Krestnews reports that Kabir Marafa, former senator that represented Zamfara Central senatorial district in the 7th and 8th Senate (2011 to 2019), has threatened to revive the Marafa faction in Zamfara State APC following their exclusion from the Party.
Marafa made the threat known in an interview with journalists in Kaduna shortly after a meeting with his followers at Syde Resort.
“Now that we have been excluded from the Zamfara State APC, we want to adopt ourselves,” Marafa stated.
He explained that from today, he had instructed all his followers to resurcitate and re-establish their faction from polling units to the state level because that’s what the leaders of the APC want.
“There are always implications for every action, and we are quite conversant with the rules, having been on this path in the past. We know the road,” he said.
Marafa emphasized that his group is ready to resucitate their faction, starting from the grassroots.
“We are going to reincarnate our faction, which we dissolved in favor of the Yari faction because it was the faction recognized by the APC at that time.
Since we agreed to come together, we felt there was no need for another faction,” he explained.
He noted that when they formed an alliance, Yari’s faction stayed, and Matawalle accepted. “Whenever there is an APC meeting in Zamfara, two factions are recognized: Yari and Matawalle.
From today, I have instructed my followers to reincarnate and re-establish our faction from polling units to the state level because that’s what the leaders of APC want,” Marafa reiterated.
Marafa also highlighted the severe implications of any actions taken, emphasizing their familiarity with the rules and the road ahead.
He expressed deep concern over the insecurity in Zamfara, acknowledging it as the state’s greatest problem and a significant concern for him.
“Our people are under siege; that is the truth of the matter,” he said, noting the alarming state of insecurity in Zamfara.
He acknowledged the federal government’s commitment to ending the insecurity in the state.
“My message to the people of Zamfara is to think deeply and choose leaders who will help them address insecurity,” he said.
