The Wife of the Plateau State Governor, Helen Mutfwang has spoken of the roles played by women in contributing to national development.

Mutfwang was speaking at an made interactive session with women at the Government House Rayfield in celebration of the Day and commended their resilience in the face of challenges and assuring that she would continue to work with her husband, Governor Caleb Mutfwang to see that women are empowered to be more involved in societal development.

She promised improved investment in women and the girl child to accelerate progress in society in line with the theme of this year which is: “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.”

The State Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Caroline Dafur ,while leading women during a to the Government House, called on women to sustain their fights on all forms of discrimination against them.

She underscored the need for women to be part of every meaningful development.
Secretary to the Government of Plateau, Samuel Jatau, charged them to be agents of change even as they continue to contribute to nation building.

Krestnews reports that the event which featured road walk, pulled women from National Council of Women Society, Stand Up for Women Society, Gender Commission and women professional bodies.
