Krestnews report that several people have been rendered homeless following destruction caused by windstorm yesterday Tuesday, April 2 in parts of Nasarawa South senatorial district of Nasarawa State.
The areas worst hit by the storm are Agbashi town of Doma Local Government Area which resulted in the loss of one life, many injured and several roof tops destroyed.
Other places affected by the devastating windstorm are Aloshi and Keana town of Keana LGA, where houses and individuals were badly affected with some people reported injured
Speaking in an interview with Krestnews correspondence, Wednesday morning, the Acting Chairman of the Agbashi Development Association, ADA, Mr. Anthony Oshinyeka confirmed the incident, describing it as very unfortunate.
The Acting ADA Chairman also disclosed that over one hundred residential houses were destroyed including the Agbashi Central mosque, part of the Pilot Primary School Agbashi and several other public infrastructure.
According to him one man also lost his life while seven others were injured at a Bassa settlement in Iponu village on the outskirt of Agbashi town.
While describing the development as unfortunate, Mr. Anthony Oshinyeka called for urgent Government intervention to cushion the devastating effect on the distressed people.
The Acting ADA chairman further solicited for immediate release of food and medical aids by Government and spirited individuals to the hungry and injured people currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
In Aloshi and Keana, many homes are reported destroyed but no report of human casualties though the reports remains sketchy.
