The Bauchi State Government owned Wikki Tourists FC has re-engaged the technical services of its former gaffer, Coach Abdu Maikaba as the new Technical Adviser.
This part of the renewed effort by the Management of the Club return to the elite league of the country’s football having been relegated in the just concluded season.
Audu Maikaba who is regarded as one of the best gaffers in the country was unveiled as the new helmsman of the Club at a ceremony held at the NUJ Press Centre, Bauchi.
Addressing Sports Journalists and teaming supportes of the Club during a brief unveiling ceremony, Chairman, Management of the Club, Muhammad Auwal Gotal explained that, Abdu Maikaba has the experience that can lead the Club to record fruitful outcomes in the coming football season.
Auwal Gotal however charged the new Head Coach to ensure that Wikki Tourists FC returned to the NPFL from the the current NNL.
While speaking, the new Wikki Tourists Technical Adviser, Abdu Maikaba said that he is back to complete a project he started with the Club during his first stay in 2014.
Abdu Maikaba who at various times coached Kano Pillars FC, Plateau United FC, Akwa United FC, Enugu Rangers FC among others, promised to uplift the standard of players at both Senior and Junior Wikki FC in oder to record more success during play.
Also speaking, former Wikki Tourists Captain, Yakubu Yankari and Chairman F.A Bauchi state, Pascal Patrick advised the Management of the Club to recruit more useful and experienced players to straighten the team ahead of the upcoming NNL season.
Abdu Maikaba who signed a one year contract with Wikki Tourists FC , has in the past spent two seasons with the club from 2014 – 2016.
Mr Pascal Patrick, the Chairman, Bauchi Football Association also speaking, urged the new head coach to recruit quality players to achieve the club’s objective.
He urged the supporters of the club to behave responsibly during matches in order to avoid sanctions
