League of Ibeku Professionals(LIBP), has declared that there is no vacancy for the seat of umuahia east constituency in Abia State House of Assembly in 2027.

The group’s unanimous declaration was contained in a communique issued at the end of its enlarged meeting in Umuahia at the weekend

The communique of the well-attended meeting of the think-tank body was signed by the President, Suveyor Samuel Aguiyi, Secretary, Comrade Nancy Nzomuche, and Publicity Secretary, Chijindu Emeruwa respectively.

The group posited that ndume ibeku extraction should be supported to retain the umuahia east constituency seat of the state house of assembly for another term in the interest of equity and fairness.

In a communique issued at the end of its enlarged meeting held in umuahia, the Abia state capital, the professional body noted that past occupants of the state legislative seat from other electoral wards that formed umuahia east constituency had taken shots at the assembly more than a term and were roundedly supported by people of ndume bloc.

The group maintained that it would amount to disservice should Ndume extraction be denied the state assembly seat come 2027, reechoing that the Ndume extraction must be allowed to retain the seat for greater economic and infrastructural developments in Umuahia east constituency and Abia at large.

The League of Ibeku professionals also lauded the effective representation of the constituency at the current eight leadership of Abia state house of assembly and pleaded with the deputy Speaker, Rt Honorable Austin Okezie Meregini to seek reelection in 2027.

The pro-democracy body affirmed that the lawmaker has displayed uncommon leadership capacity in sponsoring development-oriented motions and bills cum laws, which it said, had yeilded government’s execution of critical infrastructures in umuahia east, and as well strengthened relevant institutions of democratic governance in Abia state.

The group also lauded the reconstruction of the popular Dozie way road and the ongoing construction of Orpert-Umuafai-Lodu-Ahiaeke and Ahiaeke-Okwuta ring roads attracted by the deputy Speaker. Also under his education and healthcare supports programs, constituents in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions are being empowered academically to acquire necessary learnings in order to be productive and self-reliant in future.

“Beside his strides in attraction of impactful infrastructures and human welfarist enhancement programs, League of Ibeku professionals equally notes the Abia Assembly deputy Speaker, Rt Honorable Austin Meregini has continued to display visionary leadership anchored on dedication and team work, as he interfaces with executive arm of government in several meetings in woo important stakeholders to engender real development in Abia state, and particularly Umuahia east constituency. He engages in strategic conversations with these investors aimed at attracting investment towards shaping the future of Abia state

While evaluating Rt Honorable Austin Okezie Meregini’s gaint legislative strides since assumption of the revered position, the group commended Governor Alex Otti on his administration’s strides in the development of gigantic infrastructural and the economy of the state.

“There’s no gainsaying the fact that His Excellency, Governor Alex Chioma Otti has redefined governance in our dear state. Citizens from the state now accesses and enjoys social amenities built and provided by this current sdministration unlike the past, decayed infrastructures littered round the state, civil servants are not paid salaries as at when due…

‘Our education system crumbled, and Abia residents could not access our general hospitals or health centres for treatments because of lack of medical facilities, among others. But this present government has enhanced these important sectors of the state’s economy by erecting infrastructures in schools that has increased student’s enrollments. This government had equally trained teachers, and recently employed new teachers due to significant improvements recorded in enrollments in Abia schools…

‘We note that the current government in Abia embarked on building of primary health centers in the seventeen(17) local government areas of Abia state. Abia people are now attending and accessing these health centers for medical attentions.”

The League of Ibeku Professionals, therefore, on behalf of the people of Ibeku Ukwu Ogurube clan, reiterated their unalloyed supports to the positive efforts Governor Alex Otti-led government in Abia state in restoring God’s Own State on the path of prosperity.

The Nigerian think-tank group further declared in unanimous term that there is no vacancy in Abia state government house in 2027, as the electorates in the state yearns for continuity and consolidation.(www.krestnews.com).
