A man identified as Samuel has reportedly killed himself hours after returning from his mother’s burial in the eastern part of the country.

Krestnews reports that the incident, learnt occurred on Wednesday night while his dangling body was discovered on Thursday morning in CKC area of Minna, Niger state.

The deceased according to reports operated an electrical shop in Tunga area of Minna named Sambo Electrical.

A neighbour of Samuel who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent that the deceased was married but had no child adding that “the wife had children for another man before they got married “.

He did not leave suicide note to indicate reasons for taking his life, however while some close friends claimed emotional distress, others allege that it was the result of economic hardship being experienced in the country.

It was learnt that late Samuel did not know his biological father because he was taken by his mother’s family after getting pregnant outside wedlock according to tradition of his place.

It is however believed that he may have gotten emotionally drained after hearing comments from some people at home about his paternity after his mother’s burial ceremonies.

It was also learnt that the deceased returned to Minna only to meet his shop burgled and things carted away, a situation that may have aggravated his depression.

It is not known if the matter was reported to the police, however when contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO of the Niger State Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun promised to find out and get back to our correspondent.
