The Executive Chairman Toto LGC, Pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya has reaffirms his administration’s determination to lead the local government council with honesty, prudence and accountability.
The Chairman Toto LG stated this while presenting the 2025 Application Bill of over Five Billion Naira to the Legislative Council for consideration and approval at the Council’s Secretariat Monday.
The budget which was tagged “Budget of Redemption” according to the Council Boss will be financed through internally generated revenue with an estimated IGR of 43 million naira for the the year, statutory allocation from federal government of about 2.5 billion Naira and Value Added Tax of about 1.9 billion Naira.
“Estimated to be accruing to the local government council, the over 5 billion Naira is budgeted for the year 2025” He said.
The Chairman further stated that out of the budget over 800 millions is for personnel cost, over 1.1 billion for capital expenditures and over 3 billion Naira goes into infrastructure.
“Development, welfare and other human capital development put together and today I present to you the 2025 budget estimate of N5, 012,500,000,00 only for the services of Toto LG commencing from Jenuary and ending December 2025” He added.
Pharm. Yahaya pledged his administration’s commitment to a pragmatic leadership style where people’s oriented policies and programs will be giving top most priority.
He said that the guiding principles of his administration will be centred on providing enhanced standard of living and infrastructure.
On security of the area Pharm. Yahaya expressed his optism that, once all categories of people vis-a vis the local security apparatus, traditional rulers and security agents are carried along in the scheme or businesses of governance collectively the people will be secure and a peaceful atmosphere for investors will be guaranteed.
In his speech, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Abdulhameed Ayizimazi the Speaker of the Legislative Council acknowledged the transparent leadership style of the Chairman and assured speedy passage of the budget.
“This is the first time of its kind for the legislature to receive budget of proceeding year which is timely and in this coordinated manner”
It would be reported that personalities who accompanied the Chairman included the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Directors and Heads of Departments in the council among others.
