The National President of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Comrade Isaiah Benjamin has tasked the newly inaugurated SWAN Cooperative Committee on revitalizing the association to woo investors to support the course of the Sports Writers in Nigeria.
While Inaugurating Virtually, the President of SWAN reminded the Committee of the heinous task ahead of them which is to ensure that sports writers in Nigeria stand strong economically through Cooperative and assured them of free hands to operate.
Comrade Isaiah Benjamin noted that the choice of the Committee members led by the Chairman of the Association in Nasarawa State,Comrade Smah George was because of their individual track records and contribution to the growth and development of the Association, encouraged them to explore all the necessary avenues and platforms to drive investment to SWAN.
Speaking shortly after their Inauguration,the Chairman of the SWAN Cooperative Committee,Comrade Smah George appreciated the National Executive for the opportunity to serve in that capacity and assured of working round the clock to synergize with the relevant stakeholders with a view to fulfilling the mandate given to the Committee.
Comrade George used the opportunity to called on members of the committee to be committed to their assigned tasks emphasizing the importance of changing the narrative of Sports Writers by touching their lives through sound Welfare package and investment.
Speaking on behalf of the SWAN partners, Sports without Boarders,Barrister Abdulgafar Olamide said with proper synergy, SWAN stands to benefit a lot through partnership with various financial institutions and individuals and expressed Confidence on the abilities of the Committee to drive such investments to the SWAN Family just as he sued the support of Comrade Isaiah Benjamin’s executive to ensure targets are achieved.
Other Members inaugurated by the SWAN President are Ijeoma Peter Nwante representing South-Zone, Austin Ajayi, representing North-East,Clarkson Ogo,South-South,Bisi Ogunleye representing Sout-West,Hassan Abubakar representing North-Central,Jacob Enjewo representing North-Westis to serve as the secretary.
