The Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon. Muhammad Musa Dan’azimi ( Barayan Daddare) received in audience, President, Nigerian Medical Laboratory Science Students Association (NIMELSSA) Federal University of Lafia Chapter, Mr Glorious Esla Emmanuel on a courtesy visit at his office in Lafia.

The Board in a statement issued by the public relations officer, Gana Lawal said the Students led by their president Glorious Esla Emmanuel, came to congratulates the Executive Chairman,Hon. Muhammad Musa Dan’azimi, on his well deserved appointment for the second term in the history of SUBEB, by the Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule.

Speaking further, he extolled the leadership virtue of the Board chairman, describing him as a man of candour and an accomplished civil servant, politician and a philanthropist who has made meaningful impact in the lives of many, both within his immediate environment and outside.

The NIMELSSA, President enumerated the objectives of the association is aimed providing free malaria testing for 2000 students and treatment of those found positive, conduct test for Community based under five years; create awareness on Prevention measures such as using insecticide; treated bed nets,indoor residual spray as well as create awareness about malaria parasites and its effects on students health and academic performance.

Glorious further revealed that the Nigerian Medical Laboratory Science Students Association ( NIMELSSA) Federal University of Lafia Chapter is organising a health week to raise awareness and promote prevention of malaria among Primary and Junior Secondary Schools in the state.

According to him, the awareness become imperative now that the wet season is here and there is likelihood of surge in the incidences of malaria parasites infection.

He further explained that the aim is to educate Pupils and Students on the impact of malaria parasites, it’s symptoms, prevention and treatment

Responding, the Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education, Hon. Muhammad Musa Dan’azimi said the Board is ready to partner with the association to create the needed awareness about malaria its effects and prevention in our schools.

He counselled them to face their studies with every seriousness and vigour, urging the association to continue to uphold the values and ethics of their profession with diligence,patriotism, transparency, accountability and above all the fear of God.

The Board executive chairman expressed profound gratitude to the students for the visit and assured that the Board will partner with them in their bid to eradicate if possible the scourge of malaria in our schools.

Highlight of the visit was the presentation of Nigerian Medical Laboratory Science Students Association Health week calendar to the Executive Chairman.
