Stakeholders from Borno State, alongside members of the National Assembly representing various constituencies of the state, have donated N552 million to support victims of the recent devastating floods that have affected numerous communities across the Maiduguri Metropolis and its environs.

The floods, triggered by heavy rains over several weeks and overflow from Alau Dam, wreaked havoc in many areas, displacing thousands and destroying homes, farmland, and essential infrastructure.

The donation was announced in Maiduguri on Saturday in a joint release by the All Progressive Congress (APC) Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Dalori.

Those who touched the hearts of residents include: Maina Lawan N10m, Ali Sheriff 100m, Ali Dalori = N50m, Sen Mohammed Monguno N50m, Sen Kaka Shehu N50m, Reps Aliyu Betara N100m, Abdulkadir Rahis N25m, Ibrahim Abuna, N25m, Usman Zannah, N10m, Engr Bukar Talb = 10m, Yerima Kareto = N2m, Abdussalam Kachallah, N100m, Awari Alkali N20m.

The State Governor, Babagana Zulum, expressed his gratitude to the donors and called for further support from other stakeholders, including private sector players and international organisations.
