A group of Nigerian sports stakeholders and enthusiasts under the banner of Friends of Nigeria Sports (FNS) has commended the appointment of one of Africa’s foremost female referees, Faith Irabor, to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Referees Committee.

Irabor, who was also named to the UFOA/WAFU B Referees Committee, has earned widespread recognition for her integrity, professionalism, and firm commitment to the rules of the game.

In a statement issued by the National Coordinator of Friends of Nigeria Sports, Chief Diprieye Thompson, the group described Irabor’s appointment as a well-deserved honor and a reflection of her outstanding contributions to football officiating both in Nigeria and across the continent.

Chief Thompson urged younger referees to emulate Irabor’s discipline, dedication, and incorruptible approach to the sport, noting that her type of integrity is helping to improve the credibility of the Nigerian football league.

He further emphasized that the league continues to grow stronger due to the commitment of upright professionals like Faith Irabor, who have continued to uphold the ethics and values of fair play.
