Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has been recognized as a beacon of good governance and one of Nigeria’s most effective lawmakers. His consistent dedication to nation-building and democratic advancement has earned him the African Democracy Heroes Leadership Award and the title of Best Performing Senator of the Year 2025.

The honour, which will be conferred at the Democracy Heroes Award Africa 2025 in the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, celebrates outstanding African leaders who exemplify visionary leadership and impactful governance. This year’s theme, “Legacy of Leadership: Powering Africa’s Future,” underscores the growing demand for transformative leadership across the continent.

In a statement issued by his media consultant, Michael Ogar, the organizers praised Senator Nwoko, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for his “exemplary representation and measurable impact in legislative governance.”

Since his election to the Senate, Nwoko has emerged as a leading voice in national policy, pushing for education reform, youth empowerment, agricultural innovation, and equitable federal representation. He has also been a steadfast advocate for the creation of Anioma State, a proposal he believes will correct Nigeria’s geopolitical imbalance and foster national unity.

Beyond legislative duties, Senator Nwoko is known for his people-first approach, emphasizing that leadership should serve humanity above politics. His numerous national and international recognitions reflect a life devoted to integrity, innovation, and service.

The high-profile award ceremony will feature a red carpet reception at 6:00 p.m. and the main event at 7:00 p.m., drawing top government officials, diplomats, business leaders, and civil society advocates from across Africa.
