In this year, 2024, while the Christians started Lent, Muslims have equally joined with Ramadan for this year.
Lent is 40 day period for Christians characterised by fasting and prayers culminating into Esther celebration, while Ramadan is also a month long period of fasting, prayers and given of alms observed by Muslims the world over.
Senator Al-Makura the immediate past Governor of the State has sent a message of best wishes to the faithfuls of both faith at this season as the observe their rituals rites.
“To all Christians, I wish you a hitch free lenting period full of God’s blessings.
“And to fellow Muslims, as we welcome the blessed month of Ramadan, I extend my warmest greetings to you all.
“This time of reflection, prayer, and fasting is a reminder of our faith’s beauty and the strength it provides us, especially during challenging times”.

The former Governor and Senator in a statement issued by Media Aide, Danjuma Joseph, in Lafia the Governor used the moment to urge both Christians and Muslims, to use the Lent/Ramadan seasons to extend their hands of kindness and generosity to the immediate communities and extended family members facing hardships.
Al-Makura, implores all to use this holy month to pray for the country, Mr President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule, of Nasarawa State
