The People Redemption Party (PRP) Senatorial Candidate for Kaduna North in the 2023 Elections, Abdulahi Ahmed Wakili, has strongly condemned the swift suspension of Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi by the Nigerian Senate, describing it as hasty.
The PRP Chieftain in a statement released on Wednesday in Kaduna, emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the allegations levelled by Sen. Ningi.
Wakili said , “We must uphold the integrity of our legislative body; it is crucial to ensure due process and fairness.”
Expressing concern over the alleged budget padding amounting to a staggering 3 trillion Naira, he urged that these allegations should be diligently examined before any conclusive actions are taken.
He criticize the suspension without a proper inquiry, Wakili warned that such actions might lead to suspicion that the Senate is attempting to conceal potential wrong doings.
“Transparency and accountability in governance demand addressing allegations of financial misconduct,” he declared.
The Senatorial Candidate urged the Nigerian Senate to reconsider its decision and facilitate a comprehensive investigation into the claims made by Senator Ningi.
He stressed that this approach would not only enhance the credibility of institutions but also ensure the concerns of citizens are heard and addressed.
“In doing so, we can foster a more just and responsible government that serves the interests of all Nigerians,” Wakili concluded.
