A delegation from the E U paid a courtesy visit on the Senate Committee Chairman on Agriculture and Institutions of Agriculture, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, representing Plateau South in the Nigeria Senate

Receiving the delegation in his Senate office in Abuja Senator briefed the delegation of the European Union officials led by Massimo Delca, Head of Cooperation, about the establishment and funding of more agricultural institutions to address the challenges of improved farming practice and value addition.

A statement issued the Special Adviser to Senator Lalong on Media, Makut Simon Macham, shows that the delegation discussed issues around agriculture and food security, emphasizing the need to train more manpower that will drive the actualization of programmes to meet Nigeria’s food needs.

The E. U delegation assured the Senator of their readiness to collaborate in the areas his committee’s oversight.
