Building synergies among traditional, community, Youths leaders and Security Operatives in Doma South Area of Nasarawa State has been identified as the way forward towards achieving lasting solutions to the rising challenges of insecurity and other vices in the Area.

This is part of resolutions reached by stakeholders during a security meeting held in Agbashi, Doma South Constituency.

The meeting, Krestnews reports brought together top Government functionaries such as the Overseer of the Ekye administrative unit, Mr Bello Akoza, members of the security operatives, Districts and Villages Head, Fulani Leaders and youths Leaders who deliberated on rising issues of kidnapping, felling of economic trees for charcoal production and influx of strange Fulani herders to the area.

Presenting the resolutions, Overseer of Ekye Development Area Mr Bello Akoza noted with concern the situation where the residents no longer move freely for fear of the unknown especially the recent arrest of two suspected Fulani Youths with military uniforms and kidnap of a youth in Rukubi for ransom

He commended residents of the Development Area for attending the meeting that availed them the opportunity to discuss issues bothering on development of the area, saying they have a lot of stakes in enhancing security of Ekye Community and the entire State as a whole.

Also making Contribution to the discourse, the District Head of Agbashi, Alhaji Adamu Ogah and Village Head of Idadu, Engineer Mohammad Addra among others lamented how some nefarious activities like attacks, killings and deforestation have become the order of the day in the area and called for proper sanctions on those who indulge in the act to avert destruction to the ecosystem.

On their part, Fulani and Youths leaders at the meeting opined that any person caught in the act of kidnapping, violating the ban on charcoals production or harbouring dubious strangers should be made to face the law while those going to bail them should also be treated as their accomplices.

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ekye Development Area Mr Joseph Audu and representative of the Commander Military Camp Idadu Colonel S E Choji promised to go tough with criminals in the area to ensure a crime free society and solicit support from civilian population, especially the community people so as to achieve result.
