The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as the official host city for the finals of the 2025 Men’s Premier Basketball League.
This was contained in a statement signed by NBBF Vice President and Chairman of the Premier Basketball League, Babs Ogunade, and released by the Federation’s Secretary, Mrs. Amina Amanchi.
According to the statement, after the successful conclusion of the Atlantic and Savannah Conferences, the NBBF invited bids from participating teams to host the Final 8 and Final 4 of the national basketball championship.
The release confirmed that Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club of Port Harcourt emerged as the sole bidder for both events, securing full hosting rights.
“The club, in its bid, assured the Federation of providing a standard venue, world-class facilities, tight security, medical support, live online streaming, and transportation logistics,” the statement noted.
“They also pledged financial assistance to participating teams as accommodation subsidies and logistical support to the Federation to ensure a smooth and hitch-free event.”
The Final 8 will run from October 26 to November 3, 2025, with teams arriving on October 26 and matches played in a round-robin format from October 27 to November 2.
The Final 4, featuring the top four teams from the Final 8, will follow from November 20 to 23, 2025, at the same venue in Port Harcourt.
