Suspected Killers
The Nigeria Police Command has announced the arrest of two persons suspected to have killed one Felicia Namkywa, a petty trader.
The Police in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations, DSP Ramhan Nansel, shows that the suspects, Abubakar Ibrahim and Isah Ayuba of Shember village of Agwatashi, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa state were arrested by Police detectives attached to Obi Division after painstaking investigation.
The police explained that the arrest was sequel to complaint lodged at Obi Divisional Police Headquarters that the trader had been missing for days, and all efforts to trace her whereabouts proved abortive.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was lured via phone call by one of the suspect (Abubakar Ibrahim) who was owing her the sum of Fourty Thousand Naira (#40,000) and beckoned on her to come and purchase grains in one of the Fulani settlements (Ruga) of the area; unknown to her that there was a sinister plan to take her life and dispossess her of her business capital.”
The statement further revealed that the suspects confessed to having lured and abducted the victim, took her deep into the forest where she was straggled to death and her remains dumped in a swamp, and took away the sum of five hundred and fifty-five thousand Naira that was found on the victim, adding that the suspects subsequently led the police operatives to the scene where the decayed remains of the victim were recovered.
DSP Ramhan in the statement explained that the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal Investigation Department to swiftly conclude the investigation and charge the suspects to court for immediate prosecution.
