Newly Renovated Structures
Plateau State University, Bokkos, has officially received the renovated Faculty of Social Sciences and a 600-capacity lecture theatre, courtesy of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) intervention projects.
The renovated faculties, once dilapidated, now boast modern looks with quality furniture, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.
In a statement signed by Masara Kim,
Acting Public Relations Officer, the Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Shedrack Gaya Best expressed gratitude to TETFund for its interventions, which have significantly bridged the institution’s infrastructural gap.
The renovation projects, handled by Nicholas Dav Services Nigeria Limited and Bisham Investment Limited respectively, come with a six-month defect liability period according to Prof. Best who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Associate Prof. Keziah Ayuba. This would allow the contractors to address any pending issues before the final certifications will be completed. The consultant for the two projects, Arcprodev Design Associate Limited, assured that all outstanding work would be completed according to specifications.
In a related development, the university has awarded a contract to Kaliz Investment Limited for the construction of a 150-capacity auditorium. The project, aims to provide a dedicated space for seminars and conferences without disrupting lectures. The contractor has eight months to complete the project, according to Prof. Best.
The structure will be located within the Simon Lalong Garden, a student relaxation center on campus.

Prof. Best while handing over the certificate of award to the contractor at the proposed building site emphasized the importance of professionalism and adherence to standards in the execution of the project.
With these developments, Plateau State University, Bokkos, is poised to enhance its learning environment and academic experience.
