Plateau State governor Caleb Mutfwang, has approved the appointment of Mr. Stephen Pam Gadong as the Acting Head of Civil Service, Plateau State. The appointment takes effect from 26th August, 2024.

This follows the retirement of Barr. Mrs. Rauta Joshua Dakok, who reached the mandatory retirement age of 60 on 24th August, 2024. Mr. Gadong, who previously served as Permanent Secretary, Cabinet, and Special Services, will be sworn in by the Governor on a date to be announced.

Governor Mutfwang, in a statement, expressed his profound appreciation to Mrs. Dakok for her dedication and commitment to quality reforms in the civil service.

He commended Mrs Dakok for her steadfast support in ensuring effective service delivery that has significantly contributed to the growth and development of Plateau State.

As she transitions from active service, the Governor extended his best wishes to Mrs. Dakok and encouraged her to continue offering her invaluable counsel as the state strives towards building a more productive and transparent civil service.

Governor Mutfwang, in a statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, in Jos, the state capital, said, the “minor cabinet reshuffle is to enhance effective service delivery to citizens of the state”.

Hon. Noel Nkup, the current Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy, will now serve as the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development.

Similarly, Hon. Bashir Lawandi Datti, who previously held the position of Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, has been reassigned as the Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy.

The latest changes is with immediate effect.
