He explained that the state government’s target for 2025 is a 67% increase from the previous year’s revenue.

The chairman noted that the service is off to a strong start, having collected N3.3 billion in January alone.
According to him, to address the challenges ahead, particularly with declining revenue from federal allocations due to foreign debts, the PSIRS is exploring new revenue streams.
He enumerated Property Tax as one of the streams to ensure that property owners contribute their fair share to the state’s revenue.
While maintaining that Land Use Charges will generate revenue from the uses of land and development, he added that Collaborations With local governments and the National Population Commission is established to ensure everyone pays their fair share.

“The service is also leveraging data and technology to improve tax collection and reduce evasion.”
Wayas emphasized the importance of tax compliance, urging citizens to pay their taxes voluntarily.
The chairman however assured the public that the government would utilize the revenue generated to develop the state and improve the lives of its citizens.
