The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) on Monday confirmed that the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai (IBBUL) has attained 200% implementation efforts for the take off of academic activities of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The council stated this in Lapai during on the spot assessment of the readiness for the take off of academic activities in the newly established Faculty by its verification team.
Chairman of the Team, Professor Nelson Ochekpe expressed satisfaction with the high level of preparedness for the take off of the programme.
He said, ” I appreciate the efforts of the University Management for the smooth take off of the pharmaceutical sciences successfully. I will raise the implementation efforts from 150 to 200 percent.”
While highlighting some key recommendations to ensure a smooth start of the new programme Ochekpe emphasized the need for robust infrastructure and faculty development.
He also advised for the establishment of animal facility center and a medicinal plant garden.
Responding, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu, expressed the University’s commitment to establishing a solid foundation for the growth and success of its new programmes.
Professor Adamu assured that the Institution is prioritizing the duplication of essential facilities, including additional laboratories, in the next phase of development.
