In a significantmove to strengthen healthcare delivery in Nasarawa State, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has donated essential medical equipment and consumables worth over ₦300 million to the Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTH), Lafia.

The donation, presented by the NPHCDA State Coordinator, Mrs. Beatrice Samuel-Ose, is aimed at enhancing the hospital’s capacity to provide quality and affordable healthcare, especially for women and children under the Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (CeMONC) programme.

According to Mrs. Ruth Namo, Public Relations Officer of FUTH Lafia, the donation covered several departments, including Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Theatre, Neonatal, Paediatrics, and Laboratory Units.
The facilities received modern equipment such as incubators, ventilators, delivery beds, autoclaves, patient monitors, and automated laboratory analyzers to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.

Dr. Hassan Ikrama, Chief Medical Director of FUTH Lafia, expressed profound gratitude to NPHCDA, noting that the gesture will significantly enhance training, research, and patient care. He assured that the hospital will put the items to judicious use in line with its mission to become a leading health training and research institution in the region.
