A 12 member Executive Council of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, Nasarawa State Chapter has been inaugurated on Friday April 12 to pilot the affairs of the Institute for the next three years.
Addressing the newly constituted EXCO, the National President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Dr. Ike Neliaku, charged them to adhere to professional standards in managing information for State and National development.
He declared that it is illegal for corporate organisations, Institutions and Government to engage non professional in the management of it’s public relations
He reiterated that NIPR is a product of the law and that that is what makes it different from other professional bodies in the country.
Nasarawa State had earlier on declared it’s readiness and commitment to collaborate with the State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations to showcase the state’s full potentials to attract investment and development opportunities.
Governor Abdullahi Sule represented by one of his aides, Mr Yakubu Lamai who is the Director General, Strategic Communication and Events Management while speaking at Tazu Luxury Hotel, along Jos Road, Lafia.
He Emphasized the importance of strategic planning in securing the future of the state, Governor Abdullahi Sule, represented by the Director General of Strategic Communication and Event Management, Yakubu Lamai, highlighted the vital role the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations plays in fostering development in the state .
Goodwill messages were received from the State Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Ibrahim Othman Agbolo, and Jamil Zakari, Registrar of College of Education Keana, who praised the efforts to revive the Institute of Public Relations in the state and pledged their full support.
The inaugurated officials of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Nasarawa State Chapter has Retired Custom Comptroller Oboshi Attah as State Chairman, Muktar Wakeel Vice Chairman, Deborah Ladi Dangara, Secretary General,Mukhtar Saved, Assistant Secretary General, Ibrahim Onawo, Public Relations Officer,Mr Enoch Ali Maku is the Financial Secretary while Hadiza Dahiru is the state treasurer while Muhammad, Muhammad Lawal is serving as Auditor General..
Others are four Member Ex-officio and they are Rayyanu Bala, Louis John Ogah, Ahmad Jibrin Ibrahim and Safiya Ahmad Mohammad.
In his post-inaugural speech, Chairman, NIPR Nasarawa State, Retired Comptroller Joseph Ogboshi Attah pledged to uphold professionalism, increase promote membership drive, ensure ethical conduct, support national leadership, and collaborate with government for progress and development of the Institute and the State.
