Nasarawa State First Lady represented the Wife of President Tinubu at the occasion

No fewer than 1, 000 rural women traders in Nasarawa State have benefited from the Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Empowerment Programme Recapitalisation Grants for petri traders by the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu.

Speaking at the event to disburse the support on Thursday in Lafia, the president’s wife said that each of the beneficiaries would receive N50,000.

The First Lady represented by Silifat Sule, wife of Gov. Abdullahi Sule, said that the gesture was borne out of a steadfast commitment to boost their businesses and better their well-being.

She said that the scheme was designed to support rural women traders in all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja to enable them to contribute toward revamping the economy.

“The beneficiaries were carefully selected from the 13 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state, and each beneficiary will get N50,000, amounting to N50 million,” she added.

She, therefore, appealed to the beneficiaries to invest the money in their businesses and not use it for a different purpose that would not improve their living standard.

On her part, Gov, Sule’s wife, represented by Mrs. Shela Tosan-Akabe, wife of the Deputy Gov. of the state, appreciated the first lady for the gesture and believed it would go a long way to alleviate the challenges that businesses are going through.

Sule wife added that the beneficiaries were carefully selected from the 13; Local Government Areas of the state.
She added that only women traders who needed support to boost their businesses were selected.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Justina Matthew, a poultry farmer, appreciated the president’s wife for the gesture and promised to invest the money in her business.
