Maj-General Hilary Nzan, Commander of Army 4 Special Forces, Doma, Nasarawa State, has pledged commitment to prioritize the welfare of personnel to motivate them for optimal performance in their duties.
The Commandant stated this at an event to commemorate the 2024 West African Social Activities (WASA) of the Army at the headquarters of the command in Doma, Local Government Area.
Nzan noted that the command recognizes the importance of motivation in driving performance and achieving success against kidnappers, banditry, terrorists, and other criminal elements.
He emphasised that the welfare and well-being of army personnel are paramount and that the command is committed to providing them with the necessary support and resources to decimate all forms of criminals in the North-Central Zone.
“This is in line with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, command philosophy aimed at transforming the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities,” he added.
On the annual cultural festival by the Army, Nzan explained that the event was aimed at promoting cultural awareness, unity, and harmony among military personnel and their families.
He added that the event also enabled personnel to celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of Nigeria, and officers, soldiers, and their families relate in a relaxed atmosphere as well as showcase different dishes and attires.
Also, speaking at the event, Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State appreciated the military and other security agencies for their efforts toward ensuring peace in the state and beyond.
The governor represented by his Deputy, Emmanuel Akabe, promised to continue to support the security agencies with operational vehicles and other logistics to ensure their smooth operation.

Sule lauded the commander for the developmental strides within the Army barracks in terms of school and road network, among others, and promised to intervene to ensure they have good roads and other infrastructure.
The highlight of the event was a display of dance by different cultural groups and the presentation of awards to personnel who had distinguished themselves. (www.krestnews.com).
