The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Local Government Chairman in Niger State have thrown their weight in support of the aspiration of Alhaji Sidi Abdul Bomi to vie for the National Chairman of the party in the forthcoming national convention of the party.
The Forum of the PDP local governments chairmen stated this in a meeting on Wednesday in Minna
Briefing journalists, the Chairman of the party from Gbako Local Government Area Abdullahi Ibrahim said that Alhaji Bomi competent and qualified for the position among other aspirants.
He said, ” We have unanimously endorsed Alhaji Bomi for the position of the PDP national chairmanship. As we all know, Niger State is the only state in the north central that has not produced a National Chairman of the party. Therefore the aspiration of Bomi will afford the state the opportunity to get a shot at the position of National chairman”.
Also speaking with journalists on the endorsement of Alhaji Bomi, the Chairman of the party from Shiroro local government area Hon Garba Kuta said the aspirant has shown enough commitment for the success of the party.
He explained that the 25 Local Government PDP Chairmen endorsed Bomi in recognition of his capacity, equity and unwaivering commitment for the growth.
In an acceptance speech, Alhaji Bomi lauded the party’s local government Chairmen for the confidence reposed on him assuring that with their support he has began consultations ahead of the National convention when the National Working committee of the party will be elected
He said that the endorsement has further boosted his aspiration adding that , ” with this my consultations have started on a good note and I am optimistic that the party will grow stronger under my watch if given the opportunity”.
