The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, has donated ₦100 million to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign activities in Zone A ahead of the forthcoming Niger State Local Government elections scheduled for November 1, 2025.
Malagi, who was appointed Chairman of the APC Zone A Campaign Council, announced the donation during an interactive meeting with party stakeholders in Bida over the weekend.
According to him, “Each of the eight local government areas in Niger South Senatorial District will receive ₦10 million, while the youths and women groups will share ₦20 million to strengthen grassroots mobilization and electioneering activities.”
The Minister expressed confidence that the APC will record overwhelming victory across all 25 local government areas in the state. He, however, emphasized the need for a peaceful and issue-based campaign, reminding party members of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s counsel that no one’s blood is worth anyone’s political ambition.
“We must shun politics of bitterness and avoid rancour. Elections should not divide us but unite us as one people. Let’s play by the rules and ensure a peaceful process acceptable to all,” Malagi stated.
He further reminded politicians that politics remains a game of numbers where winners and losers must coexist harmoniously, urging both camps to be magnanimous in victory and gracious in defeat.
Malagi also reaffirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to the safety and welfare of Nigerians, noting that the administration’s ongoing reforms are already yielding positive results.
“President Tinubu’s reforms are working, and the economy is gradually stabilizing. Nigerians should have faith — this is just the beginning of many better things to come,” he added.
