The member representing Borgu and Agwara Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jafaru Mohammed Ali has narrowly escaped death after bandits attacked his convoy in Niger State on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident reportedly occurred around 1:00 p.m. at Kuble village, along the Agwara–Babana road. Sources confirmed that the lawmaker’s security aides sustained serious injuries during the ambush.
According to eyewitnesses, the lawmaker was on his way to engage his constituents on critical development initiatives when the gunmen struck. However, swift intervention by military personnel and other security operatives repelled the assailants and rescued the lawmaker.
Hon. Jafaru and members of his entourage are said to be receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
A local source disclosed that additional military reinforcements have been deployed to the area to flush out the bandits and restore calm.. Follow www.krestnews.com for more reports.
