The Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) has intensified efforts to deliver accessible and quality healthcare to residents across the state by rolling out a range of affordable and inclusive health insurance plans tailored to different income groups and professions.

In a renewed drive to achieve universal health coverage, NASHIA is extending its services to individuals in both the informal and formal sectors, ensuring that no resident is left behind due to financial constraints. From market women and artisans to Okada riders, tricycle operators, entrepreneurs, civil servants, and corporate employees, the Agency says its packages are designed to suit “every pocket and every profession.”

Under the scheme, individuals can access comprehensive healthcare services for as low as ₦12,000 annually, while a family of up to six persons can enjoy coverage at ₦50,000 per year. For workers in the organized formal sector, NASHIA offers a contributory plan requiring 3 percent from employees and 7 percent from employers.

Recognising the importance of early healthcare access, the Agency has also introduced a special school health insurance package, allowing pupils and students to be enrolled for just ₦3,000 per year.

Speaking on the initiative, NASHIA officials emphasized that the programme is aimed at reducing out-of-pocket medical expenses, improving health outcomes, and strengthening the overall wellbeing of communities across Nasarawa State.

Residents interested in enrolling or seeking further information are encouraged to contact NASHIA via 08055855506, 09083557761, 09026264426, or 08100552399. Enquiries can also be made in person at the Agency’s office located along Shendam Road, Lafia.

With this intervention, NASHIA reaffirms its commitment to building a healthier Nasarawa, where quality healthcare is not a privilege for the few, but a right for all.
