Andoma of Doma, 20th Anniversary
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar lll has called on the political class to involve traditional institutions in the promotion of good governance, peaceful co-existence for the attainment of a better Nigeria.
The revered northern monarch made the call at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo held in Doma, Nasarawa State.
Addressing the gathering of traditional rulers, politicians as well as illustrious sons and daughters of the Alago nation within the state and in the diaspora, the sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar the 3rd called on Nigerian politicians to use the traditional institution to address some of the challenges affecting the development of the nation.
While congratulating the Andoma of Doma for clocking 20 on the throne of his ancestors, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar however called on Nigerians to unite for a common goal to address insecurity and economic crisis by supporting the leaders with prayers to achieve peace and national development.
He charged Nigerian leaders to develop policies and programmes to alleviate the sufferings faced by Nigerians, saying Nigerians should stand for the greatness of the nation.
Also speaking, Governor Abdullahi sule of Nasarawa State, represented by his Deputy Doctor Emmanuel Akabe reiterated the state government’s commitment towards combating Insecurity across the state.
He congratulated the monarch for his contributions towards supporting peace initiative of his led government.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman Nasarawa State Traditional Council of Chiefs Nasarawa State Reired Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad the first, Aku Uka of Wukari Taraba State all described Andoma of Andoma as man of peace and integrity who has contributed a lot for the development of the nation, assuring him of more support to succeed in piloting the affairs of the council.
Commenting, the celebrant,Andoma of Doma Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo appreciated Sultan of Sokoto,Governor Abdullahi sule as well as other traditional rulers from far and near who came on solidarity.
