In order to strengthen the engine room of government, Nasarawa State Governor Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule Friday, October 18th, 2024 swore in five new Permanent Secretaries, two Members of Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission and a new State Auditor General.

He also inaugurated Nasarawa State Boundary Commission new Commissioner, Director General of Bureau of Public Procurement and General Manager cum Assistant General Manager of Greater Karu Development Agency jointly and severally in an elaborate ceremony held at the late Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall in Lafia the state capital.

Engineer Sule charged the appointees to ensure budgetary discipline through prudent management of the common wealth of the people of Nasarawa State by channeling available resources in the execution of government viable programmes and policies.

The Governor explained further that the appointment of new Permanent Secretaries to fill in the exiting vacancies was part of his administration’s resolve to continue to reposition the civil service for enhanced performance and productivity.

He stressed that his administration through prudent management of material and human resources has been able to successfully entrench due process and procedures in compliance to acceptable best practices in budgetary and financial management.

” Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, you will recall that I forwarded the names of individuals to Nasarawa State House of Assembly for confirmation to fill the vacancies created following the expiration of two Members of NASIEC in line with the powers conferred on me …

It is indeed with great gratitude to the Almighty God that I address you here today on the occasion of the swearing in of five new Permanent Secretaries, the State Auditor General, and two Members of NASIEC as well as inaugurate the DG Nasarawa State Bureau for Public Procurement, Commissioner Nasarawa State Boundary Commission and the GM and Assistant GM Greater Karu Development Agency ” The Governor noted.

The Governor equally appreciated the presence of eminent personalities, friends and relatives of the appointees who were in Lafia to witness the induction ceremony despite the early morning rains.

Indeed, your presence is a testimony of your continuous partnership and support to our administration in our collective commitment to provide purposeful leadership to our people ” The Governor observed.

Engineer Sule pointed out as well that; the appointment of the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to oversee Greater Karu Development Agency was expedient due the heterogeneous nature and strategic location of the area. Residents of that catchment area deserves quality services at all times.

He disclosed further that in the selection process of the appointees, attention was paid to their experiences, record of services, pedigree and loyalty to the current administration.

In his opening remarks the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State Muhammad Aliyu Ubandoma commended the Governor for the appointment and in turn, charge the appointees to live up to expectations in the implementation of government programmes and policies to justify the confidence place on them.

In his vote of thanks shortly after the swearing in, Dr. Ibrahim Adamu Alhassan pledged the commitment and loyalty of all the appointees in the execution of their various functions.

The Appointees Are as Follows. Permanent Secretaries: (1) Engineer Aka Ese Aliyu Ayitogo (2) Dr. Ibrahim Adamu Alhassan (3)Yerima Mari (4) Jonah Emmanuel Kakpo and (5) Jafaru Yakubu.

The new Auditor General is Iya Yusuf while the newly sworn in NASIEC Commissioners are: Abubakar Bala Yerima and Muktar Mamman Angbashim.

Whereas, the DG Bureau for Public Procurement is Umar Alhaji Mohammed. While the new Commissioner for Nasarawa State Boundary Commission is Ladan Adokwe.
