Nasarawa state government has declared Friday, November 1, 2024 as public holiday.
A three paragraph Statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government Barr. Aliyu Ubandoma Mohammed, says the public holiday is to enable civil servants travel to their various communities for the LG polls
The polls which is slated for Saturday November 2, 2024 is for the election of local Government Chairmen and Councillors
The statement is therefore appealing to civil servants to use the opportunity to elected credible leaders of their choices.
Krestnews reports that the election is follows the expiration of the tenure of the former elected local government chairmen and Councillors as well as the judgment of the supreme granting financial autonomy to the third tier of administration in the country.
