The Nasarawa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing workers’ welfare, aiming to enhance the overall well-being of civil servants in the state.
Barr. Abigail Waya, State Head of Civil Service, stated this while addressing delegates at the Seventh Quadrennial Delegates Conference of Nigeria Civil Service Union, Nasarawa State Council, on Friday in Lafia.
Waya was represented at the occasion by Mrs. Belinda Oyigbenu, Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Manpower Development at the office of the head of service.
She added that said that the government has outlined plans to ensure regular implementation of promotions and build the capacity of civil servants through training and retraining for optimal performance.

The head of the service emphasised that the government would prioritise workers” welfare due to the crucial role it plays in the development of the state.
She, therefore, urged civil servants to maintain a high level of professionalism and productivity toward ensuring the effective implementation of government policies and programs.
Also speaking at the event, the National President of the Nigeria Civil Service Union, Comrade Sunday Oluwole-Adeleye, commended the present administration for prioritising workers’ welfare.
Adeleye, represented by Comrade Yusuf Sarki-Iya, Vice President of the union in North Central and Nasarawa State Auditor General, acknowledged the government’s efforts to improve workers’ conditions.


Also, Comrade Felix Baba-Ibi, Chairperson of the union in the state who was reelected for a second tenure, highlighted the union’s significant achievements under his leadership.
He said that the union had recovered its land and would soon start development in it and maintain good relationships with other unions for the overall benefit of its members.
He therefore, promised to ensure that civil servants in the state gets regular promotions among other welfare issues. (www.krestnews.com).
