As Nasarawa State marks its 29th year of creation and Nigeria celebrates its 65th Independence Anniversary, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has commended citizens for their resilience amidst challenges while calling out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over alleged governance failures.
In a statement signed by Jonathan Ippa, Press Secretary to the State Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Bako Ninga (Talban Mada), the PDP saluted the steadfastness and understanding of the people despite prevailing poverty, insecurity, and hardship.
The opposition urged Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to overhaul its security strategy to halt incessant killings and kidnappings ravaging communities. It also tasked the government to create jobs for unemployed youths in Lafia, Akwanga, and Keffi through agro and cottage industries.
Furthermore, the PDP challenged the state government to fulfill its promises by fully implementing the new minimum wage, ending percentage salary payments, and granting true autonomy to local governments.
“At 29, Nasarawa people deserve nothing short of good governance, not propaganda and anti-people’s policies,” the statement read.
The PDP, however, appealed for continued patience and support from citizens, pledging to remain steadfast in its mission to enthrone good governance ahead of 2027.
