The Nasarawa State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced their chairmanship candidates for the 13 Local Government Areas (LGAs) ahead of the November 2 polls.
Mr Tanimu Adamson, Chairman of the APC LGA primaries election, announced this when submitting the report of the exercise to the party’s executive on Friday in Lafia.
Adamson explained that the election was done by consensus as agreed by the party which was in line with article 20 of the party constitution.
He explained that the announcement of the consensus candidates followed a successful resolution by stakeholders of the party and the candidates.
He announced the names of successful candidates for chairmanship of the 13 LGAs to includes; Safiyanu Isa, Akwanga, Umar Dan-Akano, Awe, Jonathan Addra, Doma, Abubakar Madaki, Karu, Adamu Aboki, Keana.
Others are; Idris Damagani, Keffi, Bitrus Agbawu, Kokona, Mohammed Ahmed, Nasarawa, Iliya Aliyu Nassarawa-Eggon, Isa Sani, Obi, Murtala Danmadaki, Toto and Ezekiel Jaga, Wamba LGA respectively.
He also announced that the councillorship candidates for the party in the 147 electoral wards were also done through consensus.
Accepting the report, Aliyu Bello, state APC Chairman, appreciated the committee members for their sacrifice and for delivering on their mandate within the stipulated time.
The APC Chairman expressed satisfaction with the caliber of persons that emerged as candidates of the party.
He, therefore, expressed optimism that the party would win the election in all the area councils, given the quality of its candidates.
APC at a stakeholders meeting on October 7, had fixed October 14 and 16 for councillorship and chairmanship primaries.
The party at the meeting had also adopted a consensus method to produce their candidates for the LGAs and electoral wards, respectively.
