In continuation with the Advocacy and sensitization visit to Traditional and Religious leaders across the state, the Nasarawa State AGILE Project led by the Project Coordinator,(PC) Hajiya Aishatu Aliyu Isoga visited the Palace of Sangari Awe, and that of the Emir of Azara all in Awe LGA
Speaking during the visit the Project Coordinator said the team was in the two palaces to informed and sensitized the Royal fathers and others stakeholders about the take off of AGILE Project in the state and to seek for cooperation and support towards the successful implementation of the project.
Hajiya Isoga described the traditional and religious leaders as critical stakeholders in the community whose invaluable contributions is highly required in the implementation of the AGILE Project in the State.
She informed them that they critical roles to play in improving the girl child education and the overall objectives of the projects.
Hajiya Isoga further outlined the AGILE project components being implemented and their benefits to the state’s educational system which are the Constructions of 30 new secondary schools across the state, Rehabilitation of existing schools structures, provision Wash facilities, Digital literacy, Life skills and Conditional cash transfer to the poorest households to support the adolescent girl child and second chance education for the out of school girl child or those that never had the opportunity to enrolled in school before.
She appeal for their support and see that their subjects are fully mobilised to participate and allow their girl children benefit from the various components as it affects them
The two traditional rulers in their separate responses lcommended the state government and their implementing partners for being so thoughtful to initiate the project for the good of the girl child; saying it will go a long way to improve the welfare of girl child both educationally and economically.
They said the intervention is timely considering the alarming rates of out of schools girls in the society and the emerging social consequences.
The promised by assuring to lend their voices and see that the message gets to the targeted beneficiaries and parents.
