Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, NAPHDA, has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), Nasarawa State branch, to improve healthcare service delivery in the State.
The Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, stated this on Thursday when the state Executive members of NARD paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Lafia.
The Executive Secretary, who reiterated the commitment of the agency towards ensuring better healthcare service delivery in the state, highlighted the role of resident doctors in providing qualitative healthcare services in the state.
On the proposed medical outreach, which NARD plans to implement in the state, the Executive Secretary said, ”the establishment of medical outreach is a good move and will help immensely, saying, ‘I don’t want to make a promise to you, but I have a strong intention to come in at any point in time if you want me to come in. I will be available.”
Dr. Iskilu, who is also a member of NARD, used the occasion to congratulate the newly elected state exco of NARD on their victory at the election and charge them to live above board.
While calling for synergy between them, Dr. Iskilu also urged them not to hesitate in offering advice to him and to also come closer to him, adding that as a member of the medical association, his office belongs to all members of NARD.
Speaking earlier, the new State Chairman of NARD, Dr. Jude Ishaya Yekpowudu, said they were in the Executive Secretary’s office to congratulate him on his appointment and to look for ways to strengthen the existing collaboration between NARD and NAPHDA for efficient healthcare services in the state.
NARD is an affiliated body of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) with the objective of ensuring safety and better conditions of service for doctors in Nigeria.
