“*** state assembly reacts assures of more support to achieve 2024 budget target in revenue generation.
Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Lands and Survey has reacted to the success story achieved by the management of Nasarawa State Geographic Information Services (NAGIS), commending it for achieving more than fifty percent of its targeted revenue for 2024 in four months.
Similarly, the committee expressed satisfaction with the commitment of Gov. Abdullahi Sule in land administration when it discovered that the Governor signed over Ten Thousand Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) within his Five years in office, saying it is a record achievement never like it before in the administration of the State, since creation.
Hon. Emmanuel Ezekiel Manding, Chairman of the committee gave the commendations when the management of the agency appeared before the committee for its 2024 budget appraisal today in Lafia.
Manding said if the agency can achieve this within four months, it is hopeful that before the year rounds off, it could achieve more than the projected amount captured in the budget for 2024.
The Chairman of the Committee said that the exercise was to appraise the budget performance of the agency for the first quarter and how to synergize for better Nasarawa State.

The lawmaker promised to give the agency all the needed support and cooperation to succeed.
” You are doing well in the area of revenue generation among others and we will continue to support you to succeed
” It is when the state government has funds that it will execute more projects that will have positive impacts on the lives of the people of the state” he said.
The committee chairman expressed his readiness to synergize with NAGIS to enable it achieve greater success, noting that for NAGIS to generate over N500 million within four months out of its One billion budget target for 12 months then there is hope it will exceed the budget target by December this year and urged them to sustain the tempo.
Earlier, the Director General of NAGIS, Mr Sonny Agassi said the agency has collected the sum of Five Hundred and Thirty Six Million Naira as revenue between the month of January to April this year.
” We are doing our best to generate money to the coffers of the state government

” We will double our performance before the end of 2024 and we are hopeful to exceed our budget target” he said.
He commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his support to the agency.
Ogassi called on those, who are yet to register and collect their Certificate of Occupancy ( C of O) to come forward and do so as the agency is ready to provide the needed services.

The NAGIS DG said within the Five years administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule, he signed over Ten Thousand (C of O) which has assisted the agency to record higher in terms of revenue generation and collection.
” Governor Abdullahi Sule surpassed all his predecessors in terms of signing of (C of O) as He has signed more than Ten Thousand (C of O) within 5 years” he added.
According to him” There was a time I presented 150 C of O to the Governor to sign, within two days, the Governor signed all. That shows his commitment to revenue generation.
In a related development, the Committee also hosted the Ministry of Lands and Urban Development on it 2024 budget performance where the Chairman of the committee, Hon. Emmanuel Ezekiel Manding commended the ministry for prudency in the management of its resources.
The committee chairman commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for prioritising land and urban development in the state.
He urged them to do more for the benefits of the people and for the overall development of the state.
Earlier, Hon Ibrahim Bala, the Commissioner for Land and Urban Development appreciated the committee for supporting it activities to succeed.
He also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his efforts in ensuring land development in the state.
The Commissioner solicited for more support to enable it overcome challenges facing the ministry which includes vehicles, office accommodation, furnitures, working tools and under staffing among others.
This is good news, the government should also do everything possible to ensure the welfare of the staffs to enable them to work harder. 🫶🏼
