Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, and the Governors of Nasarawa and Benue States were among top dignitaries who stormed Plateau State for the grand reception of new decampees into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Akpabio said the massive defection into the APC reflects the party’s growing acceptance nationwide and reinforces the impact of the Renewed Hope administration.
He assured the new members that President Tinubu welcomes them wholeheartedly and will offer them equal opportunities to contribute to the growth and success of the ruling party.
APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe, declared that the APC is more united than ever and fully prepared to “win Plateau Governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly elections emphatically.”

He stressed that the return of key political actors—some of whom worked against the APC in the last election—is a strong sign of renewed cohesion under President Tinubu’s transformative leadership.
Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu also celebrated the influx, describing it as an indication that the APC remains the most attractive platform for credible political actors across the country.
Chairman of the North Central Governors Forum, Engr. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, affirmed that Plateau remains a strong APC state despite not currently producing the Governor. He noted that even members of the serving government have now defected to the APC, which proves the people still believe in the party’s ideals.

APC leader in Plateau State, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, said the event was a “moment of vindication,” showing the resilience of the APC despite what he described as attempts by the PDP-led state government to erase the legacies of the previous administration.
He listed the sacking of elected local government chairmen, permanent secretaries, civil servants, and heads of tertiary institutions, as well as the abandonment of legacy projects, as actions that failed to sway the people away from the APC.
Plateau APC Chairman, Hon. Rufus Bature, warmly welcomed the decampees and assured them of a level playing field.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, a former Special Adviser to Governor Caleb Mutfwang and one-time APC Chairman said they left the PDP due to “deceit, oppression, and failure of performance.”
He added that the new members are inspired by President Tinubu’s leadership, Prof. Nentawe’s national direction, and Senator Lalong’s firm stewardship of the APC in Plateau State. Read more on www.krestnews.com
