The Lafia Old Students Association (LOSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to revitalizing its alma mater, commissioning landmark infrastructure projects and reelecting Dr. Faisal Shuaib as National President.

The commissioning ceremony, held at the newly remodeled Assembly Hall of Government Science School Lafia, drew dignitaries including Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, who hailed LOSA’s “unwavering commitment” to restoring the school’s lost glory. He urged other alumni groups to emulate the association’s model in complementing government’s educational initiatives.

Also present were the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I (Rtd.), and the Esu Karu, Pharm. Luka Panya Baba—both proud alumni—who commended Dr. Shuaib’s transformative leadership and service.

Highlighting LOSA’s achievements, Dr. Shuaib listed key projects such as solar-powered boreholes, a generating set, basketball and volleyball courts, a clinic, science laboratories, a mini-shopping mall, the LOSA National Secretariat, an administrative block, an examinations hall, and extensive furnishing and landscaping works.

He credited the success to the collective support of LOSA members and called on well-meaning individuals and organizations to join in advancing educational infrastructure.

The event also featured lifetime achievement awards presented to Governor Sule, the Emir of Lafia, the Esu Karu, and other stakeholders for their contributions to education and community development.
