Detail has emerged on the killing of residents and kidnap of students in Yannasarawa community of Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Katsina State Government in a statement on the issue by the Secretary to the Government Abdulahi Garba Fakari explained that the marauding hoodlums attacked Yannasarawa and abducted a total of 45 Junior Secondary School (JSS) students, according to a press statement and killed 8 local residents.
The statement signed by the Director of Press, Abdullahi Yar’adua, said government expressed sorrow and sympathy to the families who lost their loved ones in the attack.
While visiting to access the situation, secretary to the government of Katsina reported that the bandits burnt completely 10 houses, 12 shops, along side eight vehicles.
Some residents said that the hoodlums were yet to make any contacts concerning those abducted comprising 37 female and eight male students respectively.
“The Governor reiterates government’s commitment to continuous war against undesirable elements until the state is rid of banditry and other heinous crimes,” the statement concluded.
