Krestnews reports that Kaduna State is to unveiled three key policy documents aimed at fostering peace and social harmony in the state .
The Executive Vice Chairman of the Kaduna peace commission Mr Saleh Momale made this known on Thursday in Kaduna while addressing a press conference on its upcoming event to commemorate the international day of peace slated for September 21,2024 in kaduna
He said ,the policies, which include the Kaduna State Action Plan on Youths, Peace, and Security, the Kaduna State Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security, and the Kaduna State Pathway to Sustainable Peace and Social Harmony
According to him, they
are designed to provide lasting solutions to conflict and promote peace within the state.
He noted that,these documents will serve as a foundation for ongoing consultations, interfaith dialogues, and the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms.
Momale said ,the policies also aim to strengthen partnerships with civil society organisations, the private sector, and the people of Kaduna State, promoting collective efforts to uphold peace.
The organisers of this media interaction are a consortium of organisations and stakeholders collectively working for peace.
He said , amongst them are civil society organisations, government institutions, faith based organisations, professional bodies, youths organisations, women organisations, media practitioners, community based organisations
According to him, part of the activities will include a peace rally which is scheduled to take place at the University of Kaduna, featuring cultural performances and educational entertainment.
He noted that,the rally will serve as a platform to reinforce the state’s message of peace, urging all residents to embrace harmony and reject violence.
“The rally aims to foster an environment where individuals’ property and wealth are protected from harm, theft, or destruction.
They expressed optimism that peaceful coexistence is achievable with the support of all stakeholders.
Momale also extended gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his unwavering support, which has been instrumental in promoting peace and unity in Kaduna.
He commended the Secretary to the State Government for his role in advancing efforts towards peaceful coexistence.
“With continued collaboration, the organisers are confident that Kaduna State will become a beacon of peace and a welcoming home for all Nigerians and the global community”he said.
