Kaduna State has also joined Plateau and Kano in announcing 24 hours curfew amidst deteriorating Protest against bad governance in the state.
In view of the worsening security situation, Kaduna State Security Council imposed curfew in Kaduna and Zaria Metropolitan cities.
A statement issued by Samuel Aruwan, Overseeing Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs simply State that the imposition follows a review of the security situation.
He further said: There is sufficient evidence that indicates the ongoing protest has been hijacked by criminals who have resorted to looting of shops and destruction of private and public property.”
He declared that in view of the development , the State Security Council unanimously resolved to impose a 24 hour curfew on Kaduna and Zaria metropolises and environs with immediate effect.
The statement advised residents to remain indoors while security operatives work to promote law and order as restore normalcy, assuring that government will keep a close watch on the development and will issue directive as appropriate.
