Health personnel across Kaduna State have been urged to redouble their commitment to efficient service delivery in line with the state government’s ongoing health sector reforms.
The Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board, Professor Bello Jamoh, gave the charge during a strategic meeting with Health Secretaries, union leaders, and senior management staff of the agency in Kaduna.
Jamoh commended Governor Uba Sani for his massive investment in the health sector, describing the reforms as unprecedented. He highlighted key milestones, including:
Comprehensive upgrade of primary health care centres across the state.
Deployment of state-of-the-art medical equipment.
Recruitment of additional medical personnel.
Historic salary increase for health workers.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. With all these gestures by the government, we must redouble our efforts and show greater dedication to service delivery,” Jamoh said.
He stressed that the reforms came with high expectations and warned that acts of inefficiency, unprofessionalism, or misconduct would no longer be tolerated. Jamoh further called on health workers to demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients.
Responding, Dr. Yahuza Muhammad, Chairman of the Association of Health Secretaries across the 23 LGAs, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting the state’s health agenda.
Similarly, Comrade Umar Fatika, Chairman of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Kaduna State Chapter, lauded the state government for its multiple interventions and improved welfare packages, describing the salary increment as historic.
“Health workers in Kaduna have never had it this good. We are grateful to Governor Uba Sani and the board for prioritising our welfare. We assure renewed zeal and total commitment to quality healthcare delivery,” Fatika added.
