Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State on Tuesday in a significant move to bolster security, has distributed 150 vehicles and 500 motorcycles to security forces.
News agency of Nigeria quotes Governor Sani saying the distribution of the operational vehicles and motorcycles marked a major step in the in his ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and well-being of the entire inhabitants of the state.
He emphasized on the importance of empowering security personnel, stating, “We are gathered here to take a giant step in our collective efforts at enhancing the security and well-being of the people of Kaduna State.”
He highlighted that these resources would improve the mobility and response capabilities of security operatives, enabling them to address threats more effectively.
The Governor assured security agencies of continued support and acknowledged their dedication and professionalism, which are vital to the state’s security strategy.
“Let these vehicles and motorcycles become symbols of hope and safety for our communities,” he said.
Sani also announced the signing of the Kaduna State Security Trust Fund Bill into law, which aims to secure ongoing funding for anti-banditary and anti-terrorism activities in the state.
He said the initiative is part of a broader strategy that includes enhancing security at schools, health facilities, and markets, as well as scaling up intelligence gathering and private sector engagement.
The Governor reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting security agencies, acknowledging the challenges they face, particularly in accessing remote areas swiftly.
Sani also praised the efforts to establish state police and strengthen the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVS), which has recently recruited an additional 7,000 personnel.
Governor Sani expressed gratitude to national security leaders, traditional authorities, and all security personnel, especially those who have sacrificed their lives in service to the state.
On his part, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Christopher Musa at the event , appreciated the state government for donating operational vehicles to supporting their mission in protecting the nation
He said the provision of these vehicles, motorcycles will undoubtedly bolster their operational readiness, enhance our mobility, and further strengthen their capacity to safeguard the security and sovereignty of country.
He added that, operational vehicles will assist to facilitate strategic mobility and serve as a testament to the enduring spirit of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
He said ” these vehicles will further enhance our operational effectiveness, protect our communities, and uphold the values of loyalty, courage, and unity that define our armed forces.
Speaking also ,the commissioner overseeing the activities of internal security and home affairs,Mr Samuel Aruwan said the donation of operational vehicles shows the state government commitment in securing the lives of its citizens.
He said explains that the vehicles will adequate assist in enhancing response capability.
