The Kaduna Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has recorded a milestone in revenue generation for the 2024 fiscal year, with a total collection of ₦32,207,535,306.75.
This was disclosed by Ridwan Yusuf, Chief Superintendent of Customs and Public Relations Officer for the Kaduna Area Command, in a statement released on Saturday in Kaduna.
He said,this represents a staggering 96.65% increase compared to the ₦16,378,179,323.89 recorded in 2023.
He explained that in addition to the year-on-year growth, the Command exceeded its 2024 revenue target of ₦28,962,262,177.56 by 11.21%, collecting an additional ₦3,245,273,129.19.
According to him, that marks a historic achievement for the Command since its establishment.
The ₦15.8 billion increase over the previous year’s revenue highlights the Command’s operational efficiency and effective engagement with stakeholders, including importers, exporters, and Customs clearing agents.
The statement said,throughout 2024, the Command held multiple meetings and roundtable discussions to address trade challenges, foster collaboration, and promote smooth trade facilitation.
He said ,beyond its operational success, the Command demonstrated a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility.
“Initiatives such as the provision of drinking water facilities and regular security meetings with host communities have strengthened relationships and fostered mutual trust”.
Comptroller Tijjani Abe, commended the Command’s achievements and emphasized the importance of sustaining the momentum.
He highlighted the need for continued collaboration with stakeholders and vigilance against smuggling as key strategies for maintaining and improving revenue performance in 2025.
