The Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong has expressed deep grief over the devastating fire incident which occurred at the Jos Main market area, devouring many shops and goods.
Senator Lalong in a message described the incident as most unfortunate and a major setback to owners of shops and businesses within the area.
Lalong who is the immediate past Governor of Plateau State, while sympathising with the shop and business owners over the inferno said the losses incurred are great economic setback not only for the victims but to the economy of the State and nation at large.
He calls on the State and Federal Governments to immediately provide succour and relief to the victims thorough revenant agencies.
Senator Lalong also said the magnitude of the losses would require thorough assessment and investigation to facilitate interventions and also forestall future occurrence.
He also advocated for psychological and trauma support to the affected persons who are passing through the agony of losing their source of livelihood.
