The Nasarawa State Ministry of Lands and Urban Development has taken a proactive approach to curb unauthorized construction on government land.

Recently, the Ministry, led by the commissioner, TPL. Ibrahim Bala Mulki in collaboration with the Development Control Department of the Nasarawa Urban Development Board (NUDB), conducted a site visit to identify and mark properties that have been illegally develop on 88 hectares of government land situated at Mararaba by Gandu.

The Ministry in a strongly worded statement issued in Lafia says it will synergies with NUDB to demolish any structure built on government land without permission.

This move is part of the Ministry’s efforts to implement measures that will deter individuals or groups from encroaching on government- owned land anywhere in the state.

The site visit and subsequent marking of illegal properties signify the ministry’s commitment to addressing the issue of unauthorized construction on government land.

The statement further said people that have people that have encroached on government land to vacate the land or face the consequences.

This move by the Ministry is a significant step towards promoting sustainable urban development and protecting government assets.
