Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has reiterated his administration’s commitment in promoting patriotism, integrity and respect for national identity by all citizens in Nasarawa in order to achieve national cohesion .

Governor Sule was speaking at stakeholders engagement and town hall meeting held in Lafia.

The stakeholders engagement with the theme “National Identity Project”organized was organised by the National Orientation Agency ( NOA) Nasarawa state office with a view to provoke conversation around the highlighted issues of national cohesion, peace and sustainable development.

While underscoring the importance of national identity and promoting the culture of patriotism, integrity and respect for national values and national anthem by all citizens, Governor Abdullahi Sule explained that Nigerians must collectively make commitment to projecting Nigerian values that symbolize unity,peace, brotherhood for national development.

According to him, Nigeria represents one people and one nation and must adopt and embrace national identity with pride and commitment,as he commended National Orientation Agency NOA in Nasarawa State for organizing the meeting as it will go a long way in reawakening Nigerians on the need to protect the nation’s integrity within and in the diaspora.

Governor Sule represented by Commissioner of information, culture and tourism Othman Ibrahim Ngbolo also charged participants to support the agency and pass the message with a view to restoring national values for the progress of the country.

Speaking at the occasion,the Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, represented by the Chairman standing committee on information and member representing Karu Gitata, Jonah Ali Dizaho said the House will continue to support the Agency in projecting its activities especially on national issues.

Also speaking, the Emir of Lafia, retired Justice sidi Bage Muhammad who spoke through the Dan Galadiman Lafia,Alhji Dahiru usman challenged youths to contribute in building the nation and not to indulge in the promotion of tribal and religion sentiment for the progress of the country.

The Director General of National Orientation Agency NOA,Issa lanre Onilu represented by the Deputy Director Budget Mr. Ibrahim Umar said the agency is doing well to ensure citizens inculcate the habit of respect for national values and ethics, urging stakeholders to prioritize the creation of awareness and sensitization of government policies and programmes.

In her address,the state Director of National Orientation Agency, Doctor Priscilla Gondoaluor explained that the agency deemed it necessary to organize the stakeholders engagement to build the citizens on national identity for a better nation, urging the participants to support the agency in disseminating the message of the national values charter.

On her part, the State Commissioner of Special Duties and Humanitarian Services, Margaret Otaki Elayo said Nigerians must imbibe the spirit of love and patriotism as true Nigerians,as no country can develop if the citizens are divided on the basis of religious, tribal and regional affiliations.

in his submission, Acting Rector Isa Mustapha Agwe the first Politechinic , Doctor Nuradeen Mai fata represented by Director public and protocol unit Muktar Wakeel pledged the support of tertiary institutions in the state to achieve target goals.
